Obituary for Lois V Shay

Lois Virginia 'Ginnie' Shay YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pricetown United Methodist Church for Lois Virginia “Ginnie” Shay, 84, who passed away Tuesday morning at Hospice House. Virginia was born June 17, 1925, in North Jackson, the daughter of Shurl and Ruth Pitney (Baldwin) Orr. She was a graduate of Jackson Milton High School class of 1943 and worked as a secretary and stenographer for Wean Engineering retiring in 1952. Prior to Wean, Lois worked at the Ravenna Arsenal. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia was an active member of the Rosewae Garden Club, Kirkmere Elementary PTA, and a past president of the Volney Rogers PTA, and a member of the Chaney High School Band Boosters. Virginia was a former member of the Pricetown United Methodist Church, where she was married and had taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Her husband, the late Harry William Shay, whom she married July 2, 1949, passed away April 23, 2005. Virginia leaves two daughters, Ruth Feltner of El Paso, Texas and Virginia (Michael) Chizmar of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Jessica Feltner-Harris of Youngstown, Mathew Feltner of El Paso and Michael Shay Chizmar of Youngstown; as well as four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Savannah and Colton Feltner of El Paso and Alyssa Harris of Youngstown. Besides her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Thomas Shay; three brothers, Richard M., Linus S. and David R. Orr; and two sisters, Ruth B. Myers and Mary Lucy Lauban.
