Obituary for Eddie King

EDDIE LEE KING SR YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the New Bethel Baptist Church for Mr. Eddie Lee King Sr., 87, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Mr. King was born July 21, 1929, in Montgomery, Ala., a son of Edward and Lucille Malden King. He had been employed by Prudential Insurance as a licensed agent, and U. S. Steel Corporation, General Motors Lordstown for 32 years, retiring in the early 2000s.

He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, its Male Chorus and a van driver. He was also a member of Donald Lockett VFW Post 2466, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He leaves to mourn his passing, but to rejoice in his peace, three sons, Eddie (Yulanda) Muhammad of Youngstown, Martin L. (Atty. Billi) King of Copley and Kevin E. King of Austintown; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Viola Burt and Mary Booker, both of Montgomery, and Burnette Lanier of Los Angeles; former wife and mother of his children, Carmella V. King; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gladys McCant. Visitation hour will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
