Obituary for James Biastro

James Biastro McDONALD – James Biastro, 92, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. He was born on Feb. 28, 1918, in Youngstown, the son of the late Tony and Phileomenia Biastro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in both World War II and Korea. He worked for over 40 years at US Steel retiring from the McDonald Steel Works. He was a member of Woodlawn Park Methodist Church, American Legion Post 235 and the ARCO Club, where he played bocce. He married Patricia (Brownlee) Biastro on May 1, 1948, she passed away April 13, 2000. He is survived a son, James A. Biastro of Poland; a son-in-law, Timothy Niddel of Poland; two granddaughters, Patricia Niddel and Jodi Niddel, both of Poland; and two brothers, Christopher Biastro of Poland and Joseph Biastro of New Middletown. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Biastro; a daughter, Robin Niddel; and two brothers, Mike and John Biastro. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard with calling hours from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Garden in Canfield.
