Obituary for Hilda M Beckwith

Hilda Myra Beckwith POLAND – Services will be Sunday afternoon, at 4 p.m. at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church for Hilda Myra Beckwith, 91, formerly of Boardman, who died Thursday afternoon, at the Hospice House. Hilda was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Great Totham, Essex County, England, the daughter of Henry and Myra West Crumpen. She moved to Canada in 1951, and to the United States in 1963. She was a school teacher for 14 years, in England and for 12 years, in Niagara Falls, Canada, retiring in 1963. She was a member of the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church and had served as treasurer and missions chairman of W.I.C. (Woman In the Church) She was also a supporter of Coral Ridge Ministries, Focus on the Family, the Salvation Army and Crusade for Christ. She was also an avid gardener and cook and enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Al to matchbook cover conventions. Her husband, Albert G. “Al” Beckwith, whom she married Dec. 21, 1963, died March 9, 1999. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Connie (Kenneth) Krug of Concord, Ohio; and a stepson, Pete (Jaryn Barker) Beckwith of Oakland, Calif. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson, David L. Beckwith; and a brother, Robert Crumpen. Hilda will be remembered as an inspiration for her strong faith. She dearly loved her church family, who her family would like to thank for all of their love and special care for Hilda Friends may call from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
