Obituary for Jean E Kostur

JEAN ELIZABETH MINER KOSTUR WENDELL, N.C. – There will be services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard, for Jean Elizabeth Miner Kostur, a loving wife and mother, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010. Jean was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Youngstown, a daughter of Henry and Gertrude Hacker Miner. Jean was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard and was an active member of Meals-on-Wheels. She was a charter member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Liberty and was active in the Sunday School and women’s groups. She will be greatly missed by her family, her husband, George W. Kostur, whom she was married to for 58 wonderful years; her daughters, Linda Aubel of Wendell, Rene' Morrison and her husband, Robert of Cary, N.C., and Diane Bartha and her husband, William of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Douglas Aubel, Katherine Ewing, Gregory Aubel, Meghan Aubel, Rebecca Bartha, Taylor Morrison and Andrew Morrison; and eight great-grandchildren. She also will be missed by her sister, Barbara Rinda of McDonald. Jean was preceded in death by her infant son, David William Kostur and we know she is now in heaven rocking and singing to him. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol Kalapos; and her brother, Russel Miner. The family will receive family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Hall Ave. in Hubbard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, N.C. 27607. Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Jean’s family wishes to thank Hospice of Wake County, N.C., for the tender and loving care they provided to her for the past year. They were instrumental in the wonderful quality of care she received and the support they provided for her family.
