Obituary for William A. Walker

Mass of Christian Burial for William A. Walker, age 86, of Eastlake, will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 29840 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe. Please meet directly at the Church on Tuesday. Mr. Walker passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. Born Feb. 1, 1928, in Willoughby, he was a lifelong Lake County resident. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Walker was manager of field engineers for the former Euclid Road Machinery Company in Euclid. He retired in 1983 after 36 years of service. Survivors are his daughter, Deborah (Brian) Zinner, of Eastlake; sons, Theodore W. Walker of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mark A. (Donna) Walker of Eastlake and Gregory E. (Lisa) Walker of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Finlayson, of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lois (Saler) Walker, on March 23, 2009. His parents, William T. and Mary (Durk) Walker, and brother, George Walker, are also deceased. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home,  Willoughby. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
