Obituary for Carol L Mackey

In loving memory of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friends, Carol Lee (Bowker) Mackey, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, March 29th.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Lake County, growing up in Painesville, where she was a graduate of Harvey High School.  She moved to Willoughby in 1967 and resided with her devoted husband of 58 years, David Bruce Mackey.  Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and will always be remembered as a giving, loving, and caring person to all who knew her.  Her hobbies included reading, solving puzzles, crochet, needlepoint, bargain hunting at garage sales, and watching the Cleveland Indians.
Carol worked in retail sales and performed secretarial duties at the Diamond Alkali, before leaving the work field to raise her family.  She was a member of the Willoughby United Methodist Church for 48 years and volunteered at the Board of Elections for several years.  She also enjoyed spending time at the Willoughby Senior Center with her friends.
She is survived by her husband, David, sons Craig (Marie) Mackey of Concord, Todd (Carey) Mackey of Perry, grandson Justin (Troy) Elkin of Puerto Rico, granddaughter Lauren Mesa (Nicholas) Reho of Mentor-on-the-Lake and great-grandchildren Bruce and Madison. Also surviving are her two sisters, Elner Granger of Chardon and Doris Aplis of Mentor-on the-Lake; along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents William and Josephine Bowker.
