Obituary for William Sr. Amberik
William Amberik, age 81, of Chardon, Ohio, died on Friday, June 27.
He was born in Richeyville, Pa., on June 13, 1933.
On February 7, 1953, he married Winifred Mae Hunn in Centerville, Pa. William was a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a self-employed auto mechanic, was an avid golfer and enjoyed Chardon and Cleveland sports teams.
Survivors include his children, Rebecca (Sheldon) McCartney, Kathryn (Pete) Weybrecht, Dorothy (Jim) Thompson and William T. Amberik , all of Chardon, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Shoff, Naomi Shoff, Margaret Bilchik, Martha Shafranek and Barbara Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, John and Hancilla (Nee: Martin) Amberik; daughter-in law, Terry Amberik; and brothers Jack, Elwood, and Don Amberik.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 2, at 10 a.m. Rev. Paul Hagan of the Chardon United Methodist Church will officiate.
