Obituary for George E. Krantz

George E. "Jack" Krantz, 81, of Chardon Township, passed away Oct. 22, 2012, at Lake Health Medical Center in Willoughby. He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Hershey, Pa., and had lived in Kirtland before moving to Chardon in 1985. Mr. Krantz was a truck driver for the Teamster''s Union Local 407 for more than 40 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Sue Rennick March 12, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, while proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. Jack was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6519 in Chardon, Christian Motorcycle Association, American Motorcycle Association and the Chardon Baptist Church. He greatly enjoyed water skiing, restoring old and antique motorcycles, dirt bike racing, roller-skating and watching old Western''s. Survivors are his wife, Peggy Sue (nee Rennick) Krantz of Chardon Township; daughter, ReJeana Jo (David) Moss of Jefferson; son, Edward (Debby) Krantz of Cleveland; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Krantz; daughter-in-law, Betsy (nee Scheutzew) Krantz; and parents, George Thomas and Catherine (nee McDonald) Krantz. Private family services were held.
