Obituary for Lucille M. Ayoub
Lucille Ayoub, an 83 year old lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest July 15. She was born June 10, 1928 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Solomon & Ringeous Freije Ayoub. Lucille graduated from Ansonia High School, class of 1946. Growing up, she worked for the family store, Ayoub’s Grocery Store on Wakelee Ave. in Ansonia, later working for Dicta Phone Corp. until retiring in 1980. She also worked for Pitney Bowes & Union Trust Savings Bank. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, where she also served as Board Member, and was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Lucille was also an active volunteer at Griffin Hospital in Derby and the Valley Chapter of The American Heart Association. She is survived by 4 nieces, Paula DiGiovanni of Seymour, Carrie Hinson of New Mexico, Elaine Marshburn of California & Lorraine Castaldi of Florida and 2 nephews, Thomas Shepard of Florida and Phillip Ayoub Jr. of Texas. She was predeceased by 4 brothers & 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Bridgeport. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends may call on Monday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia with Trisagion services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
