Obituary for Eva Surnac Hyll
Eva F. Hyll, age 91, of Orange, beloved wife of the late John Hyll, died June 14, 2011 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Born in Lebanon, CT she was the daughter of the late John and Anastasia Surnac Feduna. Mrs. Hyll was a lifelong Orange resident and member of Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church of Ansonia. For 20 years, she worked as sales associate in the appliance department for Sears of Orange, before retiring in 1992. She enjoyed traveling taking memorable trips to Alaska, Hawaii and many cruises. She is survived by her devoted children, Marsha Raffeld and her husband, Stuart of CA, John Hyll and his wife, Lyn of SC, Thomas M. Hyll of CA, William J. Hyll of Orange and Judy Murray and her husband, Glen of Orange; six cherished Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Helen Bogdanowicz. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held in Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave, Ansonia, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
