Obituary for Theresa Kalson Marrone

ANSONIA: Theresa V. (Kalson) Marrone, 67, of Ansonia, devoted wife of Charles Marrone Sr., owner of Charles Marrone Sr. & Son Construction, passed away on June 5, 2011, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Marrone was born in Derby on Dec. 31, 1943, daughter of the late Charles Kalson and Helen Rafferty Moscariello (Fred). She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School in 1962. She was one of the first six certified ceramic teachers in the Valley. Theresa was the owner of Terry Moon Ceramics for 20 years and was employed at the former Thompson Gale for 17 years until her retirement. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a loving daughter, Theresa Godfrey, a loving son, Charles Marrone Jr., two sisters, Agnes (Joseph) Pace of Old Forge, PA, and Carol Carroll of Ansonia, a brother, Daniel (Kathy) Kalson of Shelton, cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Godfrey, Kim (David) Higgins, and Andrew Godfrey, a great-granddaughter, Chloe Higgins, a special family friend, Lisa Brown, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Kalson and an infant granddaughter, Carly. The family wishes to thank Kathy and Daniel Kalson and Barbara Ford for their devotion and care given during Theresa’s illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday June 11, 2011, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
