Obituary for GIACINTA L DYANZIO

Giacinta Lucia "Lucy" Dyanzio, 94, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 1, 2022. Lucy was born on April 5, 1928 in Lancaster, PA to Carmelo and Benedetta (Mollica) Perella. She married her loving husband Richard P. Dyanzio on March 5,1957 and spent 42 wonderful years together until his passing in 1999. Lucy was a devoted employee, working for Western Electric in Reading, PA for 32 years. Shortly after retiring in 1989 she began her employment at the Bon-Ton, located in the Berkshire Mall. There she was recognized by many in the community as an unforgettable sales associate and friend. For 23 years you could find her as the best dressed woman (with red hair) on the sales floor. She was a dedicated matriarch. Her most meaningful roles in life were as mother to Dean R. Dyanzio and later, as a doting grandmother to Adena R. Dyanzio, who adoringly referred to her as “Yaya”. She will be remembered by her friends and family for her charismatic, funny, spit fire personality, being the irrefutable best Italian cook, and for her love of the Jersey Shore. Lucy was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Perella, Tony Perella, and sister Rose (Perella) Kirby. She is survived by her son, granddaughter, and great granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday September 7, at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest following services at Gethsemane Cemetery privately with immediate family presiding. Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
