Obituary for ROSEMARY STASULLI

Rosemary Stasulli, 90, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 19, 2023. She is survived by John, her loving husband of 71 years. She was predeceased by two daughters, Patti Nagle and Cathy Beahr.

Born in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Linus and Catherine (Haertsch) Dietler. She was a graduate of Tamaqua High School and Empire Beauty School.

Rosemary was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. She was a charter member and president of the Hamburg Lioness Club, a member and past president of the Hamburg Lions Club, and along with her husband served on several committees of the Lions District 14-P. She was a proud Melvin Jones Fellow and Bing Miller Fellow.

She worked for 16 years at Hamburg Center, but her passion was owning and operating her own candy store, Stasulli’s Candymaking Supplies, in Hamburg for almost 30 years. She enjoyed teaching cake decorating and candy making techniques and hosted many demonstrations with her daughters and granddaughter.

Rosemary loved spending time with her family and being surrounded by the children. She enjoyed cooking and hosting holiday celebrations and annual pig roasts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Michael Stasulli, husband of Karen, and her daughter Rosalie Szilli, wife of Greg. There are six grandchildren and their spouses: John and Elizabeth Stasulli, Jason and Marina Szilli, Nikolas and Louise Stasulli, Jarrod and Lauren Szilli, Amber and Eric Soltysik, and Timothy Stasulli and fiancée Danielle Lazore. Rosemary is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Rd, Hamburg PA 19526, with entombment to follow in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church.
