Obituary for MARGARET E BAUSHER

Margaret E. Bausher, 97, formerly of Edenburg, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the care of Maidencreek Place and Caring Hospice. She was the widow of Roy S. Bausher, who passed away in 1994. They had shared a marriage of 50 years. She was also predeceased by their son, William Bausher.

Born in Lancaster County, Margaret was a daughter of the late William J. and Clare (Stokes) Trimble.

Margaret was an active member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church of Hamburg and member for over 75 years of the Altar and Rosary Society where she organized and prepared food for the many events and dinners held at St. Mary’s Hall.

She worked for many years as a seamstress at Hamburg State School and Hospital, Windsor Township. She continued her love for sewing in retirement by doing alterations for many. She was a formative member of the quilting guild at St. Mary’s and helped to hand quilt many for the guild, as well as for friends and family members.

She loved her family more than anything, and had a special talent for remembering all of their birthdays. She enjoyed cooking for others, and her family fondly remembers many holiday meals and Wednesday lunches at her home in Edenburg. She was very fond of giving, and she always shared what she had with those she loved- no one ever left her house empty-handed.

Margaret is survived by five daughters and their respective families: Betty Shaaber partner of Dave Mayberry, children: Mark, Jeffrey, Jessica Kase, and Matthew; Eleanor Dalious wife of Phillip, children: Amy Easter and Michael; Suzanne, widow of Dale Hettinger, child: Michelle Smith; Peggy Turner wife of Grant, children: Alison Martin and Daniel; Marie Dinich wife of Steve, children: Elizabeth Belack and Timothy; and daughter-in-law, Donna (Yoder) Bausher. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and sister Sara Manbeck.
