Obituary for Harry Baker Rosin

Harry Rosin, regarded as one of America’s leading sculptors, died Friday at his Bucks County Home, he was 75.

He had said he preferred “simplicity and realism” in an age of abstract and modern art. “I can see no reason why a piece can’t be good artistically and appealing to a large public as well.” He once said.

He gained prominence in 1935 with an exhibition of work he exhibited in public shows in London, Paris, New York, Philadelphia and other cities.

he is survived by his widow, the former Vilna Spitz, and a daughter.
