Obituary for JOANNA F. CIRULLI

Joanna F. Cirulli, 96, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard S. Cirulli until his passing in 2006. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Carmella "Mamie" (Mancuso) Sparagana. Joanna graduated from Reading Catholic High School in 1944 and later the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1947 before becoming employed as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital until her retirement in 1989. Joanna was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing BINGO with her friends. Joanna will be remembered by her card club where she was a member for 65 years. Before her husband's passing, she delighted in the walks she would take with Richard. Joanna is survived by her children, Lorraine L. Cirulli of Wyomissing and Richard J. Cirulli, husband of Patricia Sedoti, of Lewes, DE, a granddaughter, Megan, wife of Robert Jones, two great-grandchildren, Easton and Reese, and one brother, James V. Sparagana Jr., widower of Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius RCC, Whitfield with interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading to follow. The viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
