Obituary for LOUISE A CAVALIERI

Louise A. (Taffera) Cavalieri, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in her home.

Born in Old Forge, PA, she was one of ten children born to Louise Rose (Febo) and Alexander M. Taffera. She recently celebrated a milestone 70 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart, Sam, in April.

Louise held various positions over the years as a salesperson, medical technician, and floral assistant, but her most cherished role was being an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was everything to Louise and absolutely nothing brought her more joy in life than her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom truly loved their Noni.

Louise was a devout Roman Catholic and was a long-time member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. She was also a voracious lifelong learner, earning an associate degree from Penn State University in her 80s and making the Dean’s List, something she was very proud of. She filled her free time by helping to raise her grandchildren, sewing intricate quilts for under-resourced new mothers and babies, cooking classic Italian dishes to feed her family, filling out crossword puzzles, and reciting stories with loved ones.

In addition to her husband, Sam, Louise is survived by their son, Anthony, husband of Cindy (Mazzo), Spring Township, and daughters, Alexa Wojciechowski, wife of Jerry, Wyomissing Hills, and Louise Rose Kendall, wife of Tom, Spring Township. But the true lights in her life were her grandchildren: Samuel Cavalieri, Jamie Cavalieri, Nicholas (Susan) Wojciechowski, Jana (Sean) Conrad, Cara (Jeremy) Hart, Jonathan Spang, Teresa Shoudt, Stephanie Kendall, and Taylor Giorgio; and her great-grandchildren: Jason, Gianni, Luca, Benjamin, Grace, Jasper, Violet, and Michael. Also surviving is her sister Virginia Weikel, Jacksonville, FL, and several great nieces and nephews.

Services for Louise are private at the convenience of her family.
