Obituary for Mr Charles Michael Benjamin

Charles Michael Benjamin, affectionately known as Chubby or Ben, 76, passed away on May 6, 2023.

Charles was born on March 19,1947 in Bronx, NY, to David and Essie Benjamin, Charles had seven siblings. 

As a young man, he developed a love for music and singing and performed with the glee club. He later attended Alfred E. Smith Vocational School where he honed his skills in plumbing and prepared him for a long, successful career as a pipefitter.

Charles entered the New York Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in the early 1970’s. After being an active member in multiple unions, he ended his career after 40 plus years as a respected Foreman with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 520 in Harrisburg, PA.

In December 1973, Charles married Margaret Lorraine Wilson, with whom he spent 49 years building a life and a family. Charles was a devoted father and grandfather. His family was his world.

In addition to his love of music and family, Charles loved to dance, swim, playing video games, and tinkering with computers and cars. He was a lover of the outdoors, sports, news, politics and was also an avid sci-fi buff.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, David and Essie, brothers David, Ronald, Cornell, Craig, Gilbert, sisters Diane and Annette, and his four sons, Charles Jr., Chask, and twins Arkane and Carpe.

Charles will be forever missed by his wife, Margaret, his children April, Angelique, Chamarr, Chaniquewa, Ashantawa, Chamonay, Attrica, Asetti, Charessata, Artrella, Adavii, Chasten, Chavotti, Arraddi, Chaalyce, Asiovii, Adiadda, Chakay, Rasheem, Diossi, Kiobbi, Ronald, Cambe, Chanayce, E’Aug-Tey, Essie, Jay’Voss, Dianne, Carmahlena, Sons In Laws and Domestic Partners, 46 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a niece, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and those he considered his children.

His memory will be cherished by all those who knew him, and his legacy will live on through his children. Forever, Benjamin Strong!
