Obituary for Catherine D Kissling

Catherine “Kate” Kissling (nee Daniels), 85, passed peacefully into our Lord’s hands on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Formerly of Yeadon, PA; Swedesboro, NJ; and Sea Isle City, NJ; Kate was residing in Jupiter, FL at the time of her death.

Kate was a loving mother to, and survived by, her three sons, Jim Preston (Suzanne), John Preston (Kathy), and Jerry Preston (Diane). She is also survived by her sister Winnie Mahoney; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Walt Handel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Richard Kissling, and Nana to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kate was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (nee McKenna) Daniels, sister to the late Peggy Blake, Thomas Daniels, Jr., and Patty Handel, and sister-in-law to the late Dick Mahoney and Joanne Daniels.

Before retirement, Kate worked at Anchor Fences in Yeadon, and Scott Paper Company. Kate’s retirement included travel, summers in Sea Isle City, and winters in Florida. Prior to its closure, Kate was a volunteer at the Burt Reynolds Museum in Jupiter.

Kate enjoyed golf, bowling, entertaining her many visitors to Florida, dining and playing cards with her friends, reading, crime shows, and romance movies.

Visitation: Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 am, at St. Louis Church, located at 821 W. Cobbs Creek Parkway, Yeadon, PA 19050.

Memorial Mass: Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:00 am, at St. Louis Church.

Burial: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
