Obituary for Joseph H. Way

Joseph H. Way

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts, that the Way family announces the sudden passing of
their beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, Joseph Henry Way.
Joe was born in Drexel Hill, Pa., on November 21, 1963 to Ariel and James R. Way Sr. He grew up in Havertown Pa. and was the youngest of four siblings. He attended Haverford High School and went on to study at Kutztown University.

Joe was a hard worker and began working for Painting Plus, a local painting and exterior
contracting business, when he was just 18. He would go on to purchase the business and proudly ran it for over 30 years. His customers were primarily on the Main Line and in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Joe was an avid lover of animals. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish. One of Joe’s favorite spots was Eagles Mere, Pa, a town nestled into the Appalachian mountains where he spent most of his summers growing up.

Joe had a fantastic sense of humor and he relished in making people laugh. His vocabulary was
second to none, and he was an excellent articulator. Joe enjoyed nothing more than hot coffee,
crosswords, and conversation. Whenever Joe was nearby, you could hear his happy humming.

Joe is survived by his children Ariel Way and Joe Way, his former wife Mary Way, his siblings
Ruth King, James R. Way Jr. (Betsi), and Katherine Bowen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ariel and James R. Way Sr.

Contributions in Joe's memory to The Face It Foundation
