Obituary for Mr. Thomas H. Sindlinger

Thomas H. Sindlinger, 92, entered into rest on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of Janet P. (Gentzler) Sindlinger. They had been married for 73 years. 

Born on March 24, 1930, in Gettysburg, PA, Thomas was the son of the late James and Anna (Bechtel) Sindlinger. He was a 1948 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and in 1968 he received a certificate in Machine Design from Penn State York. He had 33 years of service with AMP Inc., retiring in 1995.

Thomas was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church actively serving in various leadership roles throughout the years. He was an avid sportsman and played tennis, racquetball, and golf well into his 70’s. He also got into photography when his first grandchild was born.

Thomas is survived by his four children, Deborah Waltimyer (Dean), Diane Mitchell (Jeff), both of York, Thomas Sindlinger Jr. (Amy) and Todd Sindlinger (Cyndi), both of Red Lion. He had nine grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Daniel, Angela, Jamie, Courtney, Brandon, Natalie and Michael and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by two half-siblings, James Sindlinger and Linda Malehorn. 

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2580 Mount Rose Ave., York. Visitation will be from 10am-11am with the service starting at 11am.  The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. is assisting the family.
