Obituary for Mrs. Helen Ruth Hummer

Helen Ruth Hummer (Nee Rohrbaugh) experienced the greatest homecoming and is now face-to-face with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at age 99 ½.

Helen was the beloved wife, 64 years, of George B. Hummer and mother of cherished daughter, Romaine (age 18), who both preceded her to Heaven; mother of Steven Hummer, (LtGen U.S. Marines, Retired), mother-in-law to Sheri (US Marine Veteran); and grandmother of David (Stephanie) Hummer and their son Jaxson and daughter Isla of Everett, WA.

Born January 17, 1923, in Glenville, PA, she worked as an administrative assistant through WWII; married a U.S. Marine WWII Veteran who became a Christian minister and later a U.S. Navy Chaplain serving with Marines; and supported the ministries in countless ways – Helen was truly a saint. A longtime resident of Hanover, PA, Helen moved to The Woodlands, TX, in 2017 to be close to her son.

Helen led a fantastic life guided with the positive assurance of eternal life in Heaven by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16, John 11:25-26). Helen leaves you with, “Love the Lord and each other, life is too short to do otherwise.”
