Obituary for Mrs. Sebastiana Tartaglia

Sebastiana Tartaglia, 85, of Wilton, CT , loving wife of Remo John Tartaglia, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday November 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Sebastiana was born on February 12, 1937 in Melilli, Italy. She was the daughter of Sebastian and Nancy (Amato) Gionfriddo. She came to the United States when she was 16 years old, along with her brother, Joe, and paved the way for the rest of her family to come to the United States. In 1967 she co-founded, along with her husband and partner in life, Remo Tartaglia, The American Steak House Restaurant Group. Sebastiana was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a prominent fixture at American Steak House in Bridgeport, CT.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Remo Tartaglia, of 64 years, include one son, Remo (and his wife, Anne Marie) Tartaglia of Southport, CT; and two daughters, Lorraine Tartaglia of Westport, CT and Isabel Tartaglia of Fairfield, CT; one brother: Salvatore Gionfriddo; and one sister, Dorothy Bish. She will be missed by her four grandchildren: Donald Jr., William and Robert Cafero and Sophia Tartaglia; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Gionfriddo; and three sisters, Carmela Herdman, Josephine Saltus and Mary Kerby.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, meeting directly at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT, at 12:00 PM for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield, CT. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
