Obituary for Anna B. Riegel

Anna B. (Michak) Riegel, 89 of Kempton, died peacefully surrounded by family, Wednesday evening, November 2, 2022, in Lehigh Commons, Lower Macungie Township. Anna was the widow of Earnest C. Riegel, who died January 7, 2013. Born in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Anna was a daughter of the late Elick and Anna (Stefanovige) Michak.

Anna was a member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, where she participated with the Ladies Auxiliary.

A homemaker, Anna also devoted time to the Kempton Lioness Club and was a former Cub Scout leader in the Kempton area for many years.  She also enjoyed crafting.

Anna is survived by a daughter, Anna May (Riegel), widow of Roy R. Heffner, Hamburg; and a son, David E., husband of Mabel L. (Burkert) Riegel, Kempton. Other survivors include grandchildren: Barbara A. (Heffner) Schroeder, Michelle A. (Heffner) Yoder, Matthew E. Riegel, Molly L. (Riegel) Ouellette, Emily R. Riegel, and Abby E. Riegel; great grandchildren: Matthew E. Riegel, Jr., Dustin E. Riegel, Sarah Q. Riegel, Mabel D. Kelley, Matilda C. Ouellette, Jacob D. Schroeder, Ellie C. Schroeder, Chloe A. Yoder, and Flynn A. Yoder.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. from Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with The Reverend John C. Maria, as Celebrant. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, November 7, 2022, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in the church.

The family requests contributions be considered in Anna's memory to Saint Mary's Church Memorial Fund, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA 19530.
