Obituary for Mrs. Donna J. Harbold

Donna J. (Troutman) Harbold, 84, of Dover Township, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York.  She was the wife of the late Larry E. Harbold. The couple was married for 44 years upon Larry's passing.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Logan Ames will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Greenmount Cemetery in York.

Mrs. Harbold was born in York on October 14, 1938, the daughter of the late Roy Troutman and Beatrice (Sumpman) Hoke. She was also preceded in death by her step father, Charles Hoke.

Mrs. Harbold was a member of Friendship Community Church in Dover. She volunteered for both the SPCA and Dover Senior Center. She enjoyed flounder fishing in Ocean City with her husband in years past. She also enjoyed dancing and traveling with her friends. She valued time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Harbold leaves a son, Larry R. “Rusty” Harbold of Dover; two daughters, Jodie S. Strausbaugh and her husband Eric of Wrightsville and Susan B. Gohn and her husband Todd of Berlin, MD; five grandchildren, Adam Strausbaugh, Devin Harbold (Ashley), Jared Harbold (Lauren), Sara Boyer (Dustin), and Stefan Gohn (Emily); and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Barbara Krebs of York and a sister-in-law, Susan Troutman. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Troutman and her companion of 11 years, William Shenberger.
