Obituary for CAROLYN MARIE MCKNIGHT

Carolyn Marie McKnight, 69, of Exeter Township, passed away Friday, October 14th, 2022, at Reading Hospital-Tower Health.

She was the wife of Steven D. McKnight who died August 8, 2009.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Robert Charles and Pauline Agnes (Blessing) Hettinger.

Carolyn was a graduate of Oley Valley High School and Berks Career & Technology Center.

She was employed for over 35 years as a dental assistant, retiring in 2001, then became a stay at home mother.

Carolyn is survived by two children, Tyler S. McKnight, Lancaster, and April L. (Fowler), wife of Christopher Gottschall, Flying Hills. Five grandchildren: Chandler Ellison; Nina Gotschall; Payton McKnight; Emma McKnight; and Scarlett McKnight; and one step-granddaughter, Ali Gottschall; four siblings: Mark Hettinger, Sinking Spring; Eric Krafft, Temple; Rosemary Lamaestra, Mertztown; and Beth Horn, Lebanon; one step-sister; Jeane Mohring; and her boyfriend of the last seven years; Rodney Dautrich, also survive her.

She was predeceased by one sister, Elaine Shade.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29th, 2022, at 11 A.M., at Stitzel Family Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
