Obituary for George K. Moore

 

George K. Moore, 86, of Van Nuys, CA, formerly of Lansdowne, PA died September 15, 2022 at Kaiser- Permanente in LosAngeles, CA. Born and raised Lansdowne, he was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School, class of '55. George was a member of the Lansdowne Masonic Lodge #711 and a lifetime member of the Lansdowne Fire Co. Other affiliations included Al Malaikah Shriner's Temple in LA and the Elks Lodge.  In 1960 George moved to Los Angeles and joined the LAPD, serving over 30 years. Among the highlights of his career was as part of Mayor Sam Yorty's personal security detail. George was an avid supporter of all First Responders, Active Military and Veterans. He was a vintage and antique car enthusiast.

Predeceased by his wife Nance, son Mark, grandson Michael Turner and sister Patricia Weible, survivors include daughter Linda (Jim) Turner, brother Arnold (Lynn) Moore, grandchildren:  Kristin Turner, Jamie Turner; great-grandson  Jayce Turner; Nieces and Nephews:  Marisa Hughes (Vincent), Timothy Moore (Katie), Lori Weible, Robyn Rucier (Ray); Many Great Nieces and Nephews:  Erin, Mackenzie, Keenan, Lucy, Stephanie, Andrew and Ryan

 Services and visitation: Saturday October 1, 2022

Visitation:  10 AM Sat; 

Masonic Service 10:45

Funeral Service 11 AM Sat, at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington.

Interment is private.
