Obituary for Bertha A. Bennecoff

Bertha A. (Keller) Bennecoff, 93, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Carl I. Bennecoff, who died on September 22, 2001.

Born in Rockland Township, Bertha was a daughter of the late Frederick M. and Lizzie D. (Kercher) Keller and was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, where she was a Shoefly Pie Baker for many years. Bertha was employed as a sewing machine operator for 12 years by the former Astor Industries, Reading. She also worked at Boyer's Junction Market on Wednesday's, She enjoyed baking and was known for her Fastnachts and Hickory Nut Cakes.

Bertha is survived by her children, Rodney D., husband of Diane E. (Weiss) Keller, Fleetwood, step-sons, Glenn C. widower of Theresa S. (Greis) Bennecoff, Sinking Spring; and Randy A., husband of LuAnn (Miller) Bennecoff, Fleetwood, stepdaughter-in-law Nancy (Haas) Bennecoff, widow of predeceased stepson Dallas R. Bennecoff, Reading. Other survivors include one grandson, Jason E., husband of Elizabeth H. (Angstadt) Keller; six step grandchildren: Ryan Bennecoff and his wife Jackie; Tanya R. Bennecoff, companion of Chip Gilbert; Matthew C., husband of Heather (Kulp) Bennecoff; Amy L. (Bennecoff), wife of Stephen Kope; Tara A. (Bennecoff), wife of Scott Ohl; and Michael A., husband of Stephaine (Hoch) Bennecoff. There are four great grandchildren: Justin C. Keller, Caleb J. Keller, and Wyatt M. Keller and nine step great grandchildren: Logan Bennecoff, Henry and Rhys Bennecoff; Layla and Brady Kope; Morgan R. and Shane E. Ohl; and Derek M. and Kayla H. Bennecoff. Along with her husband and parents, Bertha was predeceased by six brothers, Robert, Carol, Alfred, John Keller and two in infancy; two sisters, Beulah E. (Keller) Fox, and Mary E. Keller.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Bertha's life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Ruth F. Doty, officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
