Obituary for MARY BETH HUGHES

Mary Beth Hughes, 70, passed away on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 in her Wyomissing residence.

Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Dolores (Leyh) Hughes.

Mary Beth graduated from Scranton Central High School, class of 1970, and recently celebrated her 52nd class reunion among many close friends. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Kutztown University followed by a Master's degree in Social Work from Temple University. She worked for Concern Professional Services for 43 years until her retirement in July of this year. She was so proud to serve in many roles for the agency, including her most recent role as Vice President. She dedicated her life to children, youth, and families.

Mary Beth’s most important role outside of her professional work was being a mom, and it brought her so much joy. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sarah Hughes Early and Stephanie Logan Deem, as well as her son-in-law, Robert Frederick Early III. She is also survived by her sister, Lynn Hughes Egan, as well as many extended family members and close friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Park Road Presbyterian Church from 2:00-3:30pm, followed by a Celebration of Life/Prayer Service. Park Road Presbyterian Church is located at 1045 N Park Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
