Obituary for Joseph Clayton Traum

Joseph C. “Joe” Traum, 76, of Kirkwood, formerly of Milmont Park, Delaware County, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Nancy E. (Lampe) Traum, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2014.

Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Emil and Margaret (Daneker) Traum.

Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. For over 30 years he was employed by Wawa Dairy as a plant maintenance mechanic.

Joe loved to be in Lancaster County and enjoyed riding around and exploring. He had a passion for trains. Joe regularly made trips to train museums, train gardens, and to model railroad layouts. He was a fan of NASCAR, Jimmie Johnson being his most favorite driver. Most of all, Joe loved his family, and he especially enjoyed being a grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph C. Traum, Jr., of Kirkwood, and David A. Traum, husband of Angela, of Somerville, NJ; grandson, Simon D. Traum, of Somerville, NJ; and a brother-in-law, Jack Lampe, husband of Peggy, of Kirkwood. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Emil Joseph Traum, Jr.

Services will be private. Private interment will take place in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
