Obituary for Jeannie Marie Caswell

Jeannie Marie Caswell, 65, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at her home on Wednesday March 16, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend to everyone she knew.

Jeannie was born on August 17, 1956 in Topeka, Kansas to Charles Alvin and Cora Mae (Regnier) Briggs. She attended and graduated from Osage City High School and earned her Master’s Degree at Emporia State University. She was a teacher at Arrowhead Middle School for thirty-three years. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband Bryan with many trips all over the country, and even a trip to Hawaii. She rode with Bryan on several motorcycle trips throughout the Midwest, and to Washington D.C. with a return trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway in 2010. Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent spoiling her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed cross stitching and working on her scrap books and photo albums. She attended First Baptist Church of Shawnee, Kansas.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 39 years, David “Bryan” Caswell of the home. Four brothers: Jim Briggs and his wife Mary of Baldwin City, Kansas, Gary Briggs of Osage City, Kansas, Tom Briggs and his wife Parniece of Madill, Oklahoma, Mike Briggs and his wife Kathy of Kansas City, Missouri, three sisters: Janice Turner and her husband Bruce of Lenexa, Kansas, Judy Hiskey and her husband Kevin of Olathe, Kansas, and Janie Warren of St. George, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are a host of nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed.

A visitation for Jeannie will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Shawnee Kansas, 11400 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66214. An interment will occur Monday, March 21, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, 738 North Chestnut Street, Olathe, KS 66061. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church of Shawnee Kansas.
