Obituary for Mr. Walter James Donne

Walter James Donne passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Walter was born in 1955 on Halloween in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to New City, NY. As a student-athlete at Capital University in Ohio he is a NCAA record holder for saves-per-game as the team's soccer goalie. After graduating with a degree in accounting he quickly realized that office life was not for him and started a painting and construction business. He spent his 20's and 30's living the bachelor life focused on fun, friends and going to his favorite place - Hawaii. In his 40th year determined to start a new chapter, he married Nancy after meeting in 1997 on the newly created online dating site - Love at AOL. He realized his lifelong dream when they were quickly blessed with a family. He was known to brag to anyone about his daughters Emmeline "Emme" and Hannah. He worked hard every day perfecting the role of 'Girl Dad' and successfully set another record.
Walter was a pioneer in his professional life, establishing himself as one of the first "Dynamic Workers" of the time. In the end Walter had worked for over 20 companies and pursued many careers in everything from construction, sales, and property management. He returned to school after having his daughters and obtained his MBA from Fairfield University. He found his calling in Human Resources. His last job was his favorite working for NSC Global as HRBP North America and Global Head of Benefits.
Walter served his local and spiritual community in many roles including, CERT member, Affordable Housing Committee, Church Council Leader (Prince of Peace Church).
Walter is survived by his wife Nancy (Twomey), daughters Emmeline and Hannah, sister Jacki Lynam (Jim), brother Michael. He loved and was loved by numerous sister and brother's in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Walter and Margaret Donne.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1030 AM in Saint Anthony Church 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield with his inurnment to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
