Obituary for Ms. Cynthia Kennedy Sullivan

Cynthia was a loving and giving person her entire life. She especially loved her family and canine companions and did everything she could for them. She was an avid dancer as a young woman and adult. She loved tap, jazz and boy could she shag! As an adult she taught dance for a few years, just like her mother. Cynthia always applied herself and excelled in every endeavor she took on. Cynthia was an honor student in her younger years. As an adult Cynthia was a committed and successful professional. She worked for IBM Corporation for more than 40 years, eventually becoming a regional account manager, a position she held for many years.

Cynthia survived a debilitating stroke in January 2015 but with therapy and the support of health care professionals, family and friends she was able to come home a few months later. She lived at home with home health care until her sudden passing on December 22nd 2021. Cynthia passed away peacefully in her home. She will be missed so very much.

Cynthia's family sincerely thanks her amazing caregivers Virginia Wolf and Nelly Njenga for the 24/7 in-home care they provided for nearly 7 years. Cynthia's family also sincerely thanks her loving friends Susan Byrd and Peggy Wrenn for all their help during the years after her stroke. You all made it possible for Cynthia to live in the home that she loved for more than 45 years comfortably until her passing.

She is survived by her children, Jason Sullivan and his husband Rusty Tennant of Portland, Oregon and Kevin Sullivan of Mobile, Alabama; sister, Wendy May and her husband Douglas May of Blowing Rock, NC.
