Obituary for Margaret A. Stettler

Margaret A. (Bartholomew) Stettler, 97, of Kutztown, died Friday, January 7, 2022, in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she was a patient one week.  She was the widow of Arlington F. Stettler, who died in 1979.  Born in Nazareth, Northampton County, Margaret was a daughter of the late James and Carrie (Dornblaser) Bartholomew.  Margaret was a member of Zion's Union Church, Maxatawny.

Margaret was first employed at Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown; then, Kutztown Blouse Factory and  KATOS Sportswear, Kutztown.  Margaret also worked as a school crossing guard for many years.  She retired from Kutztown University as a custodian, having cleaned for several of the University's Presidents.

Margaret enjoyed hunting and fishing and accompanied her husband on many trips over the years.  She enjoyed spending time at the family hunting cabin in White Haven.  Margaret enjoyed working in her yard and keeping her flower beds in tip-top shape.

Margaret is survived by her son Richard W., husband of Sharon L. (Moyer) Weigle, Kutztown.  There is a granddaughter, Trisha L. (Weigle), wife of Kerry A. Berger, Kutztown, and two great granddaughters: Marisa L. and Sadie S. Berger.  Other survivors include two brothers: Robert Bartholomew, Bethlehem; and Eugene Bartholomew, Pottsville.  In addition to her parents and husband, Arlington, Margaret was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara B. Weigle; a grandson, Ryan W. Weigle; and ten siblings.

A funeral service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Jeffrey J. Butz, officiating.  Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
