Obituary for Charles Sosangelis

Efstratios “Charlie” Sosangelis of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2021, at the age of 92.   He attended Pierce Junior College, and after graduating he joined the U.S. Army. He owned a neighborhood grocery business for forty years in an Italian section of West Philadelphia. He never complained about the long hours he worked and was dedicated to providing for his family.    He adored his wife Katina of 52 years and was a very proud and devoted father and papou. He always expressed so much joy for his family and their accomplishments. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his local teams, especially football, which he played in high school. Boating and fishing were also favorite pastimes and hobbies that he loved.  Predeceased by his son Stratton (Joanne) and his beloved wife Katina (nee Kouroutzidis). Survived by his sons Sava (Mimoza), Alex (Sharon), and Ted (Maria) of Australia, grandchildren Stephen, Mersina, Nina Conomos (Nicholas), George, and great grandsons Theo, Luca, and Charlie. Also survived by Mimoza’s sons Emmanuel and Aleksandros, his brother Hippocrates, sister Alexandra Kokonos, and many nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to view 10am Tuesday January 4, 2022 in St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church 35 , North Malin Road, Broomall, PA. 19008 with his funeral service to begin promptly at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church
