Obituary for Weaver Z. Burkholder

Weaver Z. Burkholder, 83, of Richmond Township, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in his residence, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Mary W. (Horst) Burkholder, they were married November 3, 1959.  Born in Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Esra Z. and Lydia Z. (Zimmerman) Burkholder.  Weaver was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township.

Mr. Burkholder was a farmer in Richmond Township for over 30 years.  He also was a clerk at the Kutztown Produce Auction, until recently.

SURVIVORS:  In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mary, Weaver is survived by two children: a son Lamar H., widower of Christine A. (Terenchin) Burkholder, Kutztown; and a daughter, Susan H. (Burkholder) Sensenig, Mohnton.  There are also four grandchildren: Michael A. Burkholder; Megan L. Burkholder; Weylin B. Sensenig; and Kelsey L. (Sensenig), wife of Joshua L. Koehn; and two great grandchildren: J. Zane Koehn and Nixon R. Koehn.  Other survivors include two brothers: Aaron Z., widower of Ada H. (Weaver) Burkholder, Shiloh, OH; and Raymond Z., husband of Laura S. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, Edina, MO; two sisters: Edna Z. (Burkholder), wife of John H. Weaver, Kutztown; and Elizabeth Z. (Burkholder), wife of Elmer H. Weaver, Fleetwood.  There is a sister-in-law, Mattie Z. (Martin), widow of predeceased brother, Ezra Z. Burkholder, Versalles, MO.  In addition to his parents, Weaver was predeceased by a son in infancy, Marlin H. Burkholder; and four additional stillborn sons; and a stillborn daughter.  He was also predeceased by brothers, Paul Z. Burkholder; Eli Z. Burkholder; Ezra Z. Burkholder and John Z. Burkholder; along with sisters, Lena Z. (Burkholder) Martin; Mary Z. (Burkholder) Martin; Esther Z. (Burkholder) Zimmerman; Lydia Z. (Burkholder) Reiff; and Anna Z. (Burkholder) Martin.

SERVICES:  Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. from Center Mennonite Church, 80 Deisher Road, Kutztown, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating.  Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing at the late residence, 1065 Baldy Road, Kutztown, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
