Obituary for Winifred Wilkinson Lane
LANE Mrs. Winifred M. Lane, age 89, of Silver Hill Rd., Ansonia, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at home. She was the wife of the late Howard T. "Babe" Lane. Born in Ansonia on November 28, 1920, daughter of the late Eggar and Emma Elford Wilkinson. A communicant of the Church of the Assumption, graduate of Ansonia High school and a member of the Rotary Society. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Rizzio of Ansonia; three sons, Thomas H. Lane of Ansonia, William J. Lane of Dunedin, Fla., and James E. Lane of Ansonia; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by two brothers, Eggar and Albert Wilkinson and three sisters, Helen Davidson, Harriet Adams and Mildred Cowles. Her funeral services will be held on Friday directly at the Church of the Assumption at 10:45 a.m. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff Stree, Ansonia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Assumption Church in care of the funeral home.
