Obituary for Catherine Keller

Catherine Keller, 81 of Schuylkill Haven passed away suddenly on Friday morning at her home.

Born in Forestville on October 9, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Matz Pritiskutch.

Catherine was a graduate of Cass Township High School and then went on to attend Ford Business School in Pottsville.

Catherine worked at the Box Factory in Pottsville as a secretary.  She then went on to work at Alpha Mills and also did specialty sewing for “A Pretty Penny”.  Catherine was a crossing guard for many years in Schuylkill Haven and also helped at Jerusalem Child Care Center.  She worked as a teller at Pennsylvania National Bank and was the children’s librarian at the Schuylkill Haven Free Public Library where she was fondly referred to as “Miss Cath” and ran children’s Storytime.  Catherine was also a Brownie troop leader as well as a Sunday School teacher at The Lighthouse Church in Orwigsburg.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles who passed away last May.  Catherine was the last of siblings being predeceased by; John Pritiskutch, Irene Depsky, Peter, Mary and Helen Pritiskutch. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Brenden Bowen.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Jody Lynn Bowen wife of Wayne of Schuylkill Haven and Lisa A. Keller of Schuylkill Haven.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Michael Keller, Nevin Gradwell partner to Erica, Deziree Diehl wife of Luke, Jaiden Strunk wife of Sam, Bryce, Caitria and Calista Bowen.  She is survived by great-grandchildren; Soroya, Harper, Peyton, Kolson, Tristen, Hailey, and baby boy Diehl due in October.

A viewing will be held Wednesday evening at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home with an additional viewing from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.  Interment will be on the ground of Schuylkill Memorial Park.  In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to The Brenden Bowen Memorial Fund and Charities c/o Tompkins VIST Bank, 237 PA-61, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972
