Obituary for MIROSLAV RAUS

Miroslav Raus, 75, passed away on April 17, 2021, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born in Banja Luka Bosnia on May 5, 1945, to parents Slavko and Dragica Raus.

Miroslav attended the University in Banja Luka. He worked as an electronic engineer and retired from UnityPoint Health. In 1975, he married Radmila Vujicic in Banja Luka. After moving to the Des Moines area, Miroslav was one of the founding members of St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church.

Miroslav enjoyed everything about electronics and fixing things, watching tennis, and solving Sudoku puzzles.

Miroslav was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa who loved his family dearly. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Radmila; daughters Jelena Raus-May and Danijela Knezevic; sons-in-law Tony May and Robert Overton; grandchildren Luke Raus, Roman and Gianna May; as well as his sister, Ivana and Fabio Misso.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021, at St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church, 4655 NE 3rd Street in Des Moines. Burial will follow services at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
