Obituary for Mrs. Brenda L. Messinger

On April 7, 2021, after a 4 year battle with breast cancer, Brenda closed her eyes on this earth and opened them in heaven to behold the face of Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Our prayers have been answered, I finally arrived. The Healing that had been delayed is now realized. If you could see me now, I'm walking streets of gold. If you could see me now, I'm standing tall and whole. If you could see me now, you'd know the pain's erased. You wouldn't want me to ever leave this place, if you could only see me now. Brenda was born in Hanover on November 30, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Luther W. and Lydian A. (Rohrbaugh) Fuhrman.

Brenda is survived by her wonderful husband of 50 years, Marlin E. Messinger. She is also survived by her beloved children, Beth A. Messisnger of Dover, and Mark E. Messinger and his wife Dawn of Dillsburg and her very cherished grandchildren, Madison, Mason, and Morgan. She is also survived by a brother Gary Fuhrman (Marzella); a sister-in-law, Deb Rohrbaugh and her husband Joel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her sister, Connie R. Fuhrman and a brother Terry L. Fuhrman.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 10:30 am at her church, Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Ave., York, PA with her pastor Greg Wahlberg officiating.  Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. There will be a viewing Friday from 6-8 pm at her church and again prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am.

Brenda's greatest desire all through life was to be like Jesus and to "finish well'. I have gone to the Rock of my Salvation: that Rock is Jesus Christ. I do not go on my own, but because of the blood that Jesus shed for me at Calvary. For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
