Obituary for Elizabeth Marie Matey

Elizabeth Marie “Betty” (Rathgeb) Matey passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Matey was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School. Betty was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Price) Rathgeb; and the wife of the late Edward J. Matey Sr., who died in 1974. Surviving is her loving family including 5 sons: Edward (Mimi) Matey, James (Debbie) Matey Thomas (Dotsey) Matey, Stephen (Susan) Matey and David (Colleen) Matey; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers: Elmer, Thomas and Richard Rathgeb.

Her Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia at 10:30 am; with Eulogy starting at 10:15 am. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
