Obituary for Janice T Dunn

Janice Dunn, (nee Thompson), age 75, floated into God's hands on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021.  She is survived by her adoring and ever faithful husband of 36 years, Henry, (Hank), her loving daughter Kim, her caring son-in-law Josh, and 2 amazing grandchildren Alec and Zachary.  There is also family in South Carolina..her brother-in-law Ron, sister-in-law Connie, and niece Kristin.

Janice had a long working history after graduating from Archbishop Prendergast High School.  Her most memorable and fulfilling position was a 35 + year career in the Federal Government.  She worked in Northeast Philadelphia, at the Naval Supply Depot.  She was an inventory control specialist, supporting the P3 Orion Naval Aircraft.  She was also a team leader for  the S3 Viking Anti-submarine warfare aircraft.

She met her 3 best friends, (Louise, Maureen, and Delores), while working at the Naval Supply Depot.  They took trips to Walt Disney World, enjoyed cruising together, and made frequent trips to Philadelphia and New York.  They also enjoyed many leisurely lunches and shopping adventures. Janice loved Opera and was a life long supporter of The Opera Company of Philadelphia.  She enjoyed attending the Opera in Philadelphia and New York City.  She was also a member of The Red Hat Society of Langhorne, (an international women’s social society).  In addition to taking cruises with her friends; she also went on 4 cruise trips with her husband. They traveled to The Islands of Hawaii, The Western Caribbean, Bermuda, and The Bahamas.

In addition to spending time with her friends, she cherished her time with her 2 grandchildren.  She absolutely beamed with pride whenever she spoke of them. She always had pictures to show and was ever so happy to go on a shopping spree for them.  Her response to the statement, "The kids don’t need that", was a resounding “Oh yes they do!".

She also loved and passionately cared for her husband, Henry, ( Hank), of 36 years.  She was a woman who put her heart and soul into everything and everyone.  As her family and friends will tell you, "Janice never spoke an unkind word about anyone".  She was the kind of person that made people want to "be" better and "do" better.  She will always be a shining example of what is good and right with the world.  Janice's passing leaves a void for all who were fortunate to know and love her.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, April 15th, at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA.  Janice was a practicing Catholic and when she moved to Levittown, chose to be a faithful parishioner of Queen of the Universe Church for over 20 years.  The family will receive visitors at the Church at 10:00.  The funeral mass will begin at 10:30.  Interment will immediately follow at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
