Obituary for Arthur J. Anglace

Arthur J. Anglace, Sr., 92, husband of the late Mary Ranno Anglace of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on Christmas Day December 25, 2009 at the Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. following injuries he received after suffering a fall. Mr. Anglace was born in Ansonia on April 24, 1917, son of the late Albert and Catherine Giulette Anglace. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed as a security guard at the Farrel Corporation in Ansonia until his retirement. He was a member and served as Past Captain of the Hilltop Hose Co.#5 in Ansonia and was also a member of the Eagle Hose & Hook & Ladder Co. #6 also in Ansonia. A communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, he was a member of its Catholic Men's Club, Bocce League and was an usher at the vigil mass. Art was a second ward alderman in Ansonia for 10 years and was a former superintendent of the Ansonia Public Works Dept. He also enjoyed bowling in the former Valley Firemen's Leagues and was a member of the Hopbrook Golf Course in Naugatuck. He is survived by a son, Arthur J. Anglace,,Jr. and his wife Marie of Ocala, Fla.; a cherished grandson, Wayne Anglace and his wife Evin of Collegeville, Pa; three grandchildren, Paige, Victoria and Ryan Anglace and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Morris, John and Theodore Anglace and a sister Hilda Boni. The Spinelli-Ricciut Funeral Home of Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
