Obituary for Peggy Agnes Chrostowski Batza
Peggy Agnes Batza, 90, resident and wife of the late William Batza, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Hilltop Health Center in Ansonia. She was born june 27, 1918 in Derby, daughter of the late Walter Chrostowski and Sophie Bednas Chrostowski. Peggy worked in the dietary department for Griffin Hospital, for the former Evening Sentinel and later as a receptionist for the former Patti's Beautique in Ansonia. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Ansonia. She is survived by her son Richard Batza and his wife Marie and her daughter, Patricia Zaretzky and her husband, Dr. Joel Zaretzky, all of Oxford and six gradchildren, Karen, Deanna, Stacey, Rebecca, Rachelle and Chad. She also leaves one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by three brothers, Chester, Henry and Thadeus Chrostowski and two sisters, Wanda Schuld and Julia Pinchuk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday from St. Joseph's Church, Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
