Obituary for Donald Hamilton Campbell Sr.

Donald Hamilton ampbell, Sr., age 77, of 313 Silver Hill Road, Derby, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at home with his family on January 23, 207.  Born on November 15, 1929 in Ansonia he was the son of the late Jasper B. campbell and Gladys Hamilton Campbell Caesar.  Donald received his education in The Ansonia Public Schools.  A true believer in entrepreneurship, he owned and operated the Campbell Scrape Yard on the old Broad Street in Ansonia throughout the 1950's and early 1960's.  He was later employd by Sikorsky Aircraft as a lead inspector and finally retired from the Charlton Press of Derby.  Donald was a humble servant to God and served as a Junior Warden and later as a Senior Warden of Immanuel St. James Episcopal Church in Derby until he became ill  He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Charlotte Flemister Campbell; daughters, April D. Campbell M.D. (Alexandra) of Ann Arbor, Mich., Donna Jean Campbell, Esquire of Philadelphia, Pa; sons Donald H. Campbell, Jr. and Jonathan E. Campbell (Arlene) of Philadelphia, PA and Adolph Jerome Campbell (Margaret) of Derby.  He i also survived by his loving grandchildren, Michael A, Zachary D, Javon S, Caitlyn E, Dominic J., Amanda A., Michael R., and Kasey J.; siblings, Charlotte Caesar, James M. Caesar (Linda) of Watertown, Jacqueline MacCalla (Thomas) of Del Mar, CA., Robert Caesar (Margaret) of Encinitas, CA and a host of relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Wesley, Jerome and William Campbell of Ansonia.  A celebration of his life will be held Monday the 29th at 11 a.m. in The Immanuel St. James Episcopal Church, 123 Minerva Street, Derby.  Friends may call on Sunday January 28 2007 in The Jenkins King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia from 3 to 6 p.m.  Intrment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia, on Monday The family lllllllllllllllllwishes to thank the staff at Griffin Hospiutal, Connecticut Hospice and especially Dr. Gowda for their loving cae and kindness during Donald's illness.
