Obituary for Bernard J. Fitzpatrick

Bernard J. Fitzpatrick, 78, Shelton resident and husband to the late Elizabeth Connors Fitzpatrick, died at home on March 19, 2009. He was born Apriln7, 1930 in Derby, son of the late Frank and Helen Burke Fitzpatrick, and was the owner and proprietor of Fitzpatrick Chrysler Jeep dealership of Ansonia. Bernard played football for Ansonia High School where he graduated in 1947. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church of Hunti9ngton, a member of Racebrook Country Club for over 50 years and a former member of the Ansonia Rotary Club. He was a member and past president of the New England Chrysler Dealer's Advertising Association. He is survived by two sons, Paul J. Fitzpatrick and his wife Kathleen of Southbury and Neal R. Fitzpatrick and his wife Leigh of Branford; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Fitzpatrick and Janet McCann and her husband, Edward, all of Shelton and Marie Cocchiola and her husband Ronald of Branford. Bernard leaves eight grandchildren, Connor, Mark and Clare Fitzpatrick, Ed and Erin McCann and Lynn Cocchiola and Jack and Ginger Fitzpatrick. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brother Frank Fitzpatrick and two sisters, Helen McGivney and Marylou Murphy. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Jenkins-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
