Obituary for Sarah McElroy Karolkowski
Sarah Winifred "Winnie" "Sally" Karolkowski, 62, of Seymour, beloved wife of Thomas Karolkowski, died June 20, 2010 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Ireland on October 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine Brennan McElroy. Mrs. Karolkowski was a longtime resident of Fairfield before moving to Seymour five years ago. She was a homemaker, an avid bingo player and devout communicant of St. Emery Church, Fairfield. In addition to her husband of 43 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Thomas J. Karolkowski Jr. and his wife Karen of Bridgeport, Sally A. Southard and her husband Darren of Ansonia, and Brian A. Karolkowski and his wife Megan of Fairfield; brother Frank McElroy and his wife Cathleen of New York; sisters, Mary McMenamin and her husband Sean of New Jersey, Ann O'Connor and her husband Jim of New York, Jackie McElroy of New York, Lillian Zambardino and her husband James of New York and Eileen Coates and her husband Edward of Pennsylvania; 11 cherished grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend Patricia Hull and her husband Robert of Bridgeport. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph McElroy. Wakeleen Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia
