Obituary for Michele Moffa Ayr

Michele M. Ayr, 60, beloved wife of Arthur H. Ayr, Jr. of Ansonia, unexpectedly entered into peaceful rest on Friday morning December 18, 2009 in her home. Michele was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. on October 29, 1949, daughter of the late Michael and Angel Rose Petrucci Mofa. She was a graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. A resident of Ansonia since 1982, she was employed as a registered nurse for several area hospitals and nursing homes. She was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and a member of its Rosary Guild. Michele enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and especially spending time with her granddaughter Angelina. Besides her husband Art, she is survived by two sons, Arthur H. Ayr III and his wife Michelle of Ansonia and Philip A. Ayr of Hamden; a brother Carmine Moffa of Fairfield; three sisters, Teresa Moffa of Fairfield, Mary Chappa and Katherine Moffa of Shelton; cherished grandaughter Angelina Ayr of Ansonia; a niece; two nephews; and many friends. Her funeral will be on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia. The Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
