Obituary for Marion Gianpoalo

Marion L. Donofrio Gianpoalo, age 86m beloved wife of more than 30 years to Samuel H.Gianpoalo of Ansonia, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, December 28, 2006 at the Shelton Lakes Health Cae.  Mrs. Gianpoalo was born in Derby on July 24, 1920, daughter of the late Vincenzo "Tony" land Anna Cutarelli Donofrio.  A life long resident of Derby and Ansonia, she ws employed for many years at the Specialty Plastics in Derby and the East Side Greenhouse in Ansonia until her retirement.  She loved muic and dancing and was a member of the Moose Club in Bridgeport.  Besides her husband,  Sam, she is survived by two sons, Vincent Afasano and his wife Pamela of Cromwell and Peter Onofrio Jr. and his wife Lisa of Durham, a daughter Jo-Ann Tarantino of Jupiter, FL; six grandchildren, John Tarantino of Florida, Judith Tarantino of Virginia, Amy and Vincent Afasano of Cromwell and Peter III and Christopher Onofrio of Durham; and two nieces.  She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Donofrio.  Friends and relative are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday January 2, 2007 at 9:15 am from the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia  Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 1, 2007 from 4 to 7 pm in the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home.  To obtain driving directions or to send the family condolence,please visit www.spinellifuneral home.com
